Big Sur 11.6.2 with new 6.2.1b panic

this crash happens as soon as you connect the enclosure?

are both your units RAID 5?

Are either "new" where you can create a new volume as R4?

@softraid-support  no I start copy files from TB4 to FLEX and than panic apear. if I am jus for example sanding files to google drive  computer work good. both raid 5 but I have prediction of disc failure in tb4 and I am coping files to my flex. now spftragd application have error after lunch and application don't work.

Here is an attempt to resolve the error where the error launching SoftRAID occurs, the SoftRAID Monitor failed.

What we are going to try is manually remove all SoftRAID components, as below.

How to manually Remove/uninstall the SoftRAID driver and components:

Paste each command line below into the terminal application. You will need your normal admin password for some steps.

Delete the SoftRAID driver:
sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext
sudo touch /Library/Extensions
sudo kextcache -fu /

Now, Restart your computer

Remove the daemon and SoftRAID Monitor:
sudo rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.softraid.softraidd.plist
sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.softraid.SoftRAIDMonitor.plist

Remove the SoftRAID application support directory:
sudo rm -r /Library/Application\ Support/SoftRAID

Remove all the SoftRAID preferences:
defaults delete com.softraid.SoftRAID

reset the extensions caches:
sudo kextcache -i /
sudo kextcache -system-caches

Restart the Mac. SoftRAID volumes will no longer mount on the desktop, but that is temporary, until you reinstall the driver.

When you run SoftRAID to install the driver, do not immediately restart. wait until the dialog box pops up to go to System Preferences/Security. "Allow" OWC as an Identified developer, now restart, (you have to maneuver around a couple different restart buttons SoftRAID and macOS)"

My problem is with panic shout down of computer when transferring files from thunder bay 4 to flex.

If you look in the console.app can you find any "diagnostic reports" or crash logs that relate to this?

If you copy using Carbon Copy Cloner, does it crash?

Is it only from TB to Flex or is it the other way also?

is it possible you could delete the flex volume and create a new one as RAID 4?

I dont use CCC just copy files. Now from flex to thunderbay 4 my computer crash also. 
I cant deleta volumes. flex have files inside. 
I try to add sofraid log file but i cant add it here.

SoftRAID tech support files, are what I generally want, not the SoftRAID log.

 

When you see this in a panic log:

It is pointing to the DART io chip, which controls Thunderbolt. So this appears similar to the RAID 5 issues users have.

Any chance you can delete your volume and try RAID 4?

I suspect that will not have an issue. (and would like to confirm)

Now it is to late. Now panic apear 3 times in a row after turning on mac. I disconect TB4 and now it is ok. This is log:

You should disconnect after the first or second, or you need to "Allow" OWC again.

Did you try removing one disk before connecting? does that work?

Delete the SoftRAID driver:
sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext
sudo touch /Library/Extensions
sudo kextcache -fu /

Now, Restart your computer

Remove the daemon and SoftRAID Monitor:
sudo rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.softraid.softraidd.plist
sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.softraid.SoftRAIDMonitor.plist

Remove the SoftRAID application support directory:
sudo rm -r /Library/Application\ Support/SoftRAID

Remove all the SoftRAID preferences:
defaults delete com.softraid.SoftRAID

reset the extensions caches:
sudo kextcache -i /
sudo kextcache -system-caches

But now soft raid 6.2.1 beta application work good - no error. Only panic and shut down when I turn on TB4  this is thunder bay 4 with thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter.

Can you "report to Apple' and save the text into text edit and attach it? Then I can perhaps see what is triggering the panic.

Also, attach a SoftRAID tech support file (Utilities menu in SoftRAID)

I try turn on TB4 and and it run about 3/5 mint and then panic happened. This is apple raport:

This particular crash is caused by the M1 i/o chip (DART, it controls Thunderbolt) crashing.

This only happens with RAID 5 volumes. Not RAID 4, if you want to delete your volume and create it again as RAID 4.

We are waiting for Apple engineering to either fix this in macOS, or give us a workaround to resolve this. We are hoping very soon, but it has been under investigation for some time.
