After upgrading to 11.4 I can no longer open up the SoftRAID app and the SoftRAID Monitor is no longer running. After launching SoftRAID 6.0.5 I get the following error message:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am waiting for a debug version of SoftRAID so we can solve this. The Monitor is not loading or is crashing. Are your volumes mounting for now?
Same here. Just upgraded OS to 11.4. Upgraded SoftRaid from 5 to 6. App loaded briefly and displayed RAID, but wouldn't mount. Upon reboot, SoftRaid won't load drivers. Tried multiple uninstalls/reinstalls, reset permissions, safe mode, disconnected all peripherals, multiple restarts. Same issue. SR just won't load.
Did you "Allow" OWC as an identified developer? That is the most important step. If you get to System Preferences/Security after you update the driver or reinstall it is the option there?
That determines whether you have the driver loading issue (can work around it with a manual load), or a bad extensions issue, where we may need to delete older extensions.

I've got it solved. I did get the OWC approval message upon original install, but when that worked, it wouldn't let me boot the OWC RAID enclosure. When I tried again, I started getting the failure to load messages. I was then unable to reinstall or get that developer approval prompt.
I went into the root library and deleted the entire SoftRaid folder. It had elements of v.5 in there as well as the v.6 install. Once the entire folder was deleted along with the application, I rebooted, reinstalled, and after re-approving identified developer, everything worked perfectly. It seems the whole problem centered around kexts and other elements left over from v.5 still on the system. You must start with a clean install with no leftover elements of v.5 anywhere on the drive in order for it to work.
@bcm1021, I'm having same issue. I looked in the / folder and didn't see a SoftRAID folder. Did you mean somewhere else?

I ended up fixing my problem like you by deleting every SoftRaid file I could find after using AppDelete to delete SoftRAID 6.0.5 (SoftRAID would lock up and not let me use the uninstall). Restart.
After restart I reinstalled 6.0.5 and restarted again (after allowing SoftRAID in Prefences -> Security. Now my 4 bay TB2 would not mount (it did before despite the SoftRAID application not working). Uninstall again but via SoftRAID utility. Reboot.
After reboot, I reinstalled and application now works and external 4bay mounts perfectly. I'll update if I encounter any more issues.
I spoke with engineering and the Application Support files are essentially all identical with 5 vs 6. What were you referring to by left over from v.5"?
@dagwood. there are 2 library folders. one is specific to a user (it's not this one), and the other resides on the root drive (Macintosh HD). The one on the root should have a SoftRAID folder inside the Application Support folder. That's the one I deleted.
There could be an issue there, perhaps ownerships or something, but it was not because of 5.x. Thanks, though, its possible this may be a clue, but when you "uninstall" SoftRAID from utilities menu, this does remove the folder, so why in some users this does not work is a mystery.
thanks!
@softraid-support same here. My volumes are mounting but i cant open softraid app, same error. What should i do ?

after reinstall the option is not there.
For your case, please attach a SoftRAID tech support file. You may have an obsolete extension (or more) that is causing Big Sur to block extensions from loading.
