mac os monterey does not mount volumes managed by softraid

so I started again, uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled the driver, I did not have a request from system preference / security and privacy, but a pop-up appeared and asked me for my apple pass to authorize a change (which allowed to install or uninstall the drivers moreover I did not have a request to restart once installed ... and it still does not work ......

You are not getting the System Preferences/Security/General pane to show the ability to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer. This is just something to set the path to the application for the Monitor.

Paste this into the terminal. This is a check to see if macOS is quarantining the driver:

sudo xattr /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

If it is quarantined, it  will show, otherwise blank.

This explains the cause, at least.

You can remove quarantine on each driver. Here is the SoftRAID command:

sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

Apply this to the other drivers also. At least the quarantine issue is resolved.

Now, restart and see if SoftRAID app can launch.

I had exactly the same problem– OWC ThunderBay not mounting even though volumes showed in SoftRAID v6.2.1 (with OS 12.2).

I installed/uninstalled about 5 times before I FINALLY just opened System Preferences/Security/General window ahead of the SoftRAID installation and it wasn't until then that I could see the "Allow" request show up.

I wish they'd make it more obvious:  Either make that window show up on top of all else when permission is needed, or at least let that Allow request persist longer. :(

Anyway... glad I saw this post and that I now have drives mounted on new Mac Studio.

Hope you enjoy the Studio, it should be incredibly fast!

Apple Security keeps implementing new processes for driver installs and it is not stable yet. We hope they settle on a solution that developers can count on. Once that happens, we can perhaps write code to make sure this option is seen by users.

The user experience in macOS for professional/prosumer users is pretty poor right now. Out of the box, Macs' work great. Start adding advanced components and all kinds of obstacles pop up.

no, it does not offer me the possibility of validating OWC, so I uninstalled, reinstalled with system preference / security and confidentiality / general open to see if the validation proposal appeared but nothing at all this happened and I wonder find myself in the same situation as at the beginning driver not supported and my raid (1+0) is in curtain, impossibility to use it is with the time passed since my call for help I also lost my taff what don't leave me many choices about you ...
