Raid 10 degraded missing disk

Hi, using Monterey 12.5, soft raid 6.3 on Mac Studio max with raid 10 16TB, [8x4TB disks in 2 thunderbay4 boxes], formatted as 4X4TB volumes.  7 disks ok and 1 disc is reported missing so raid is degraded.  The missing disc is present without errors and is missing 7 disks.

The softraid reports this driver error "one or more disks contain an unsupported softraid partition format.  Please use a newer version of softraid with these disks."

Not sure how to fix this- any thoughts?  I hope this is in the correct sub forum.

Attach A SoftRAID technical support file (Utilities menu) so I can check before giving recommendations.

Make sure your backups are up to date.

Locate the disk for the volume that has 7 missing disks.

initilaize that disk.

Now you can "Add disk" to the volume and let it rebuild. You can use it while rebuilding.

@softraid-support  Thanks all rebuilt now.

Also I am setting up a bigger raid10 with 8x12TB.  Is there a preferred stripe size [video & photoshop mainly]?  I am using Monterey and I seem to remember seeing a preference for stripe sizes to prevent hangs..  maybe this only applies to raid 5 ??

@kevsull

That does only apply to RAID 5. I recommend the default 64k unless you have a very good reason to do otherwise.
