Hello.

I have TB 8 conected to iMac - Late 2015. I have installed eight Seagate EXOS 16TB HDDs.

The problem is that drives are not detected in either Disk Utility or SoftRAID - 7.0.1.

Most likely this is a cable issue. Does your cable have a Thunderbolt logo on it? (as opposed to a USB logo?)

YOu are plugged into a Thunderbolt 3 port, not a USB3 port with a USBC cable?

@softraid-support i could not plug it into usb3 using usbc cable because i dont have that ports in my iMac late-2015.

I use thunderbolt 2 cable - mDP with adapter to thunderbolt 3 - usbc. I use original Apple cable and adapter.

Even if cable or adapter are broken, should drives spin up when i turn up the power button on array?

Yes when a thunderbolt signal reaches the drives, they will spin up. If they are not spinning up, that means the computer is not able to communicate with them.

Attach a SoftRAID tech support file. Let me see what the computers sees as attached.

Can you even do that?  I thought conversion from TB2 to TB3 required the host to be TB3 in order to use TB2 devices.

Disregard my last post.  Found an article saying "yes, you can do that"
