I recently upgraded to High Sierra and then purchased Softraid Lite 5.6.3

I run an OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 as my backup Raid drive. I originally had 2 of the 4 bays used, which were originally Verified and Certified by Softraid last year. I then added 2 more identical drives so I could run a Raid 10. All of the drives are the Western Digital Red Pro, 4 TB, 7200 RPM, NASware 3.0, hard drives.

After initializing and creating a new Volume, I attempted to run a Disk Verification. Softraid initially indicated that it would take approximately 1 day to complete.

During that time, a High Sierra bug caused my iMac to not AWAKE after going to sleep. Not to disrupt the verification process, I just let the system run for another day.

After the 2nd day, the OWC was still working on the drives. At this time I decided to reboot the iMac.

My question is after looking at the log, it appears as though I never received a confirmation that the Verification process was successful? Is this true?

My followup question....

If I run a Disk Certficiation, and the iMac goes to sleep and does not wake up, will I cause a problem with the drives if I reboot the computer before the Certification process is complete.

Here is the Softraid Log ...

Oct 23 20:17:30 - SoftRAID Application: Launching application: SoftRAID Lite, version 5.6.3
Oct 23 20:42:26 - SoftRAID Application: Verifying the disk disk1, SN: 00 01 D2 00 00 B3 07 D9, FireWire bus 0, id 0. All the sectors on this disk will be read to ensure that they are reliable.
Oct 25 11:59:49 - SoftRAID Monitor: Starting SMART test on all disks which support SMART.
Oct 25 12:00:00 - SoftRAID Monitor: Finished SMART test. No disks failed the SMART test.
Oct 25 12:01:00 - SoftRAID Application: Launching application: SoftRAID Lite, version 5.6.3
Oct 25 12:01:06 - SoftRAID Monitor: SoftRAID Lite Monitor loaded, version 5.6.3.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also.... if anyone has a workaround to not letting my iMac go to sleep and not awaken, it would be greatly appreciated.

Dom

A disk certify will generally offer to restart the process when you certify again.

A validate does not survive a restart. But a validate can be performed in the background and you can use your system in the meantime.

I do not have a workaround for sleep. In my experience, this rarely happens when the Mac goes to sleep on its own, usually when it is put to sleep. This seems like your machine naturally went to sleep in your case, though.
