Hi, I have a pair of mechanical hard drives in a thunderbay enclosure that were used to create a RAID 1 volume.
I ran disk validation today and it shows around 150 blocks updated. I have not run a validation since the volume was created.
Is this normal? If so, I was curious what causes two disks to become not identical over time, resulting blocks being updated
Thanks so much

This is normal for a first validate. After this, there should never be a difference.
The reason is SoftRAID is intelligently able to mirror only the active parts of a new volume. A Validate updates parity on the entire volume, even bits that have never been used for data.
