Can someone advise as to the problem when attempting to convert a non-RAID 4TB internal (SoftRAID volume, with 3.4 TB of existing data) to a RAID 1 Mirror; I receive the message:
"Error Converting Volume
There is not a SoftRAID disk with free space available. You need to have 1 SoftRAID disk with free space available for this conversion."
...but I have an additional empty 4 TB internal drive SoftRAID volume created. So I do not understand why the error? Safeguards are disabled on both drives.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Is the spare drive freshly initialized? (There is not a volume on it?)
If true, then try resize the volume on the existing volume down by a GB, in case the new drive is slightly smaller than the existing drive.
Thanks for the answer. I had created a volume on the spare disk and that was the problem. After deleting the volume the mirror conversion happened seamlessly.
Thanks again.
Tom
