Hello,

I have two identical 1TB drives as RAID1 yet I have noticed that when the Mac boots up there is now a 30 second delay (never there before) before the Apple icon appears.

Looking at the SoftRAID main window I notice a change in colour to the RAID (see screenshot attached) that make me suspect something is wrong.

Can someone please explain what went wrong and how to fix it?

Kind regards,
Morrile

There is not enough information to help you here. In most cases a delay at startup is not SoftRAID, it may be a damaged extensions cache. If SoftRAID is delaying startup, it may be because one disk is not startuping up properly and the system is waiting for it before starting (to prevent a failover event)

Hello,

It transpires one of the two drives does have a fault which Disk Utility reports "problems were found with the partition map" and this stops it from booting up; hence why part of the RAID shows in a different shade of green. I am not sure how this actually happened yet may try a fix via booting from an external image, else wipe both drives and start again.

If this volume is a SoftRAID volume, and you staart from another disk and run SoftRAID, it should offer to repair this for you.
