Hello,

I'm using softRAID with a Lacie 2 bays "Big Disk".
I have noticed that the softRAID dashboard signals that the secondary disk is missing (see attached image), but I can see both disks in the dashboard and they are both marked as "no errors".
The "secondary disk" is visible and marked "no errors".
Is my RAID malfunctioning?

The log as this entry:

Apr 22 13:29:22 SoftRAID Driver[82] : A disk (disk5, SoftRAID ID: 06B3287A505EBC40) for the SoftRAID volume "Photo Archive RAID 0" (disk6) was removed or stopped responding while the volume was mounted and in use.

What is the best course of action to ensure my data are safe?

Thanks

Depends on your setup.

if this is a two disk Mirror, with an off site secondary disk, then it is fine.
if this is a two disk Mirror, and you had to replace a disk or delete/readd a disk, then the message is a counter. You can use the command "remove missing secondary disks" to reset the counter.

the volume is OK and your mirror is working.

BTW: it appears you are running 5.1. Never use an out of date version of SoftRAID, please update to 5.5 SoftRAID Lite. You can download the latest version from our web site.

Thanks, it worked.

I used the "remove missing secondary disks" and the error message disappeared.

I have also upgraded to the latest version of SoftRAID.

Cheers
Luciano
