Just upgraded to Softraid 5.8.4 on a T2 Mac and have seen the popup that a limited version of the driver is running and Secure Boot needs to be disabled for the full version of the Softraid driver to work.
Is this definitely the case when running Mojave? I've seen the thread relating to Catalina ( https://srforums.wpengine.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1196) and it's mentioned at the end of the thread that this is only needed due to a Catalina limitation. 5.8.3 was running fine on my T2 Mac.
Is this requirement being misapplied to Mojave systems?
We agree that this restriction should not be required for Mojave. We will change this behavior in 5.8.5.
In the meantime, you can run 5.8.3, or disable Secure boot temporarily.
My guess is September for 5.8.5.
No, there will not be a 5.8.5, sorry, 6.0 was pushed ahead. Keep using 5.8.4 and disable "Check for updates" in SoftRAID preferences by setting it to never.
Thanks. I think I will stick with 5.8.3 until I am forced to upgrade to Big Sur. It works for me, especially when a hard drive needs replacing.
Is there a compelling reason to upgrade to 5.8.4 that makes dealing with the T2 issue worth it?
