I am running Mojave on 10.14.3 on a new Mac Mini
After upgrading from Softraid 5.7.3 to 5.7.5 - my mac mini/ Thunderbay enclosure no longer sleeps
It briefly goes to sleep - Enclosure LED turns orange for 1 second disks spin down, and then disks start spinning again, LED turning blue.
Before updating the Softraid XT I did not have this issue. The only change to my MAC was upgrading the Softraid XT
Any hint for this behavior?

There were no significant changes in 5.7.5 that would affect this.
Perhaps the indexing spotlight engine is doing this, let your machine stay awake for a day, see if that does it.
You can also watch activity Monitor for any unusual activity.

Even after about 24hrs it does the same. It is interesting that I have other external USB drives connected , and those do not wake up, those spin down and stay like that.
What I also observed is that Thunderbay goes to sleep, wakes up after a second, then goes back to sleep after 30 secs or so, then goes to sleep for one second, and the cycle keeps repeating. During this time the other disk does not wake/ spin up again.
I'd be happy to provide you with any logs from my machine.
Is there a way I can go back to 5.7.3 to see if it resolves it?

If you did not delete the 5.7.3 app, yes you could. Just run it and install the driver.
I really doubt it will make a difference. Some process is waking the disk.

Yes, I do have it still in the /Applications folder, as well as a DMG file
However, when I try to run it, it says that the driver on my system is newer than the one it wants to install, and does not allow me to override the driver.

So I did revert back to 5.7.3 and you are right - no difference. It must be something else...

Then look for an activity that ignores sleep. Check activity Monitor for any tasks running that do not look right.
Generally I would guess indexing or something.

I found it!
It was my USB3.0 Hub, which was causing the issue. I did power cycle the power on the HUB and now it sleeps well...
for those interested
I've use pmset -g pslog in order to find out what was waking it up.

It did not said explicitly USB Hub, but it was something connected to USB ; via trial and error I was able to find the bastard.
