Hi folks
i have 4 internal harddrives witch i combine to 2 (mirrored) softraid-volumes.
The only problem is that both softraid volumes use the same volume ID. That confuses my backup tool which is pretty bad...
why use 2 volumes the same volume ID?
how can i create 2 volumes with different IDs?
Thanks!
Tom
Can you tell me how you did this? SoftRAID cannot create two volumes with the same volume ID on its own.
Once I understand how this might have happened, we can work on fixing the problem.
Hi
thanks for your answer!
I just create the first one and after that i create the second one.
The good news - the second volume is not in use actually. So maybe it helps to delete the raid and create it again?
(and next question - how I do this?)
Can you tell me how you did this? SoftRAID cannot create two volumes with the same volume ID on its own.
Once I understand how this might have happened, we can work on fixing the problem.
Click on the volume in the volumes tile and:
Disable Safeguard
Delete
Then you have finished.
Before you do this, can you generate a SoftRAID Technical Support file? save it, then email it to support@softraid.com. We would like to investigate and understand how you accomplished this.
thanks!
Thanks now it works!!
