I have 5 Toshiba P300 3Tb drives in a raid 5, and decided to purchase a spare, but can’t find the same drive as it has been discontinued. The retailer is suggesting a 4tb Toshiba NAS drive that also spins at 7200 rpm as a spare. Could I expect this drive to live well with the others in the raid setup?

SoftRAID can support a mix of different drives, yes, with no problem.
