Hello,
I have 2 RAID-5 volumes on my Thunderbay. In both if I right click a file (any type of file) and select the "Get Info" option I only see this "--" on the "more info" panel. But, this option works as expected if I do the same thing on a file from the internal disk of my computer or any other external disk.
SoftRAID 5.8.4 - Mac OS X 10.15.6
Any ideas on how to fix this strange behavior?
Thanks in advance.
Just tested this on a 10.15.6 system.
Both a file on the desktop (internal drive) and on a SoftRAID volume show details on "more info" tab.
Maybe you do not have "full disk access" enable in Security/Privacy?
@softraid-support It was the first thing I checked, SoftRAID has full disk access.
I am puzzled then, as there is no difference in Finder between a SoftRAID volume and Apple volume, they are containers with files. the OS has a couple bugs in "about this mac", but Finder should respond identically.
What about "files and folder's"?
I found the culprit : Spotlight index.
I had disabled Spotlight indexing on this volumes because Spotlight was eating a lot of CPU use on my computer.
And also, I always got the message "The disk couldn't be ejected because the Finder is using it" when I try to eject one of the volumes.
I removed the volumes from the Privacy tab on Spotlight System Preferences and after indexing was finished SoftRAID volumes show details on "more info" tab.
