Hello,
We have a 2008 Mac Pro running OSX 10.8.5 and the latest version of Softraid. The machine has three 3TB RAID 5 volumes on four 3TB internal drives. The system drive is an SSD in the optical bay.
One of the RAID 5 volumes does not appear on the desktop at all. It can be opened from Disk Utility or going to /volumes/VOLUME_NAME but the icon is never anywhere to be seen. The volume works as any other, and it can be shared in the local network, where it can be mounted by another mac, but even there the icon never appears on the desktop - only on sidebars of Finder windows.
There probably is a trick to fix this, I just haven't found it yet... can anybody give me some advice?
Thanks
Tuomas
Open your Finder Preference for general: External Disks is checked.
Hi,
It is checked and the two other Raid volumes are always visible, so it is something else that's going on.

Open your Finder Preference for general: External Disks is checked.
I was able to fix it... it was "hidden". This terminal command helped:
chflags nohidden /Volumes/DriveName/

Do you have any idea how this setting was made on your volume?
SoftRAID does not have the ability to set a volume as hidden.
