I'm thinking of using SoftRAID on more than one PC, with each array contained within each PC, which version should I buy?

Thank you.

I am not sure this will work. SoftRAID is not a network attached storage driver. So you cannot connect it up as a network device. (you can share the volume)

Are you planning on having the volume move around from computer to computer? Or connect them via ethernet?

I need to understand your request better, but it seems you want SoftRAID to do something it is not designed for.

Sorry for being confusing, here's what I'm looking to do:
I intend to create

1) a simple array of 4 internal drives on RAID0 on PC 1 running on Windows 10,

2) another different array of 3 internal drives on RAID1 on PC 2,

3) and yet another different array of 2 external drives on RAID0 on PC 3, and so on.

So my question: do I need to purchase a copy of SoftRAID for every PC that I run SoftRAID on? Or do I just need to get the Pro version and run the program using one license on multiple PC's?

Further info on my setup: all my PC's are connected to the same LAN network at the same physical location.

Each computer needs its own license for SoftRAID. However, if you have an XT license (thunderbay's), then additional licenses are very inexpensive. (You can get them through the app. You can also purchase additional seats of Lite. Let me know if you need more information.

Hi, I have one question regarding using my Thunderbay in multiple computers (by plugging and unplugging into multiple laptops).

My volume is RAID 1+0, and it was created in Mac#1 which has SoftRaid installed.

When I plugged into another Mac#2 which does not have SoftRaid installed, there was no problem in reading any of the data on the Raid volume from Mac#2.

So then does it mean that we do not need SoftRaid to be installed to read RAID 1+0 volume?

Then I would not need additional license on SoftRaid XT on Mac#2? I'm confused...

Not quite so simple. We built in a limited driver into macOS, so your volume will mount on any (intel only) computer.

To actively use it and get full protection, you need a license on each computer, although you can use it on and then move it to the other, as long as it is one at a time.

We sell discounted second seats also for $19 for XT licenses.
