I have several OWC drives. Very expensive drives.
I was previously using Softraid XT version 6, and have my licenses upgraded from version 5 to 6 so that I could continue to us the lite version.
I have now installed SoftRAID v7.6 for compatibility with OSX Sonoma. The software has reverted back to a 14 day trial.
I go to the OWC license management page and it states the license is for 6XT and is 'OK and ready for use'.
However, it gives me two upgrade options for pro and for XT - both of which I have to pay for?
Why is this so?? I have several expansive drives that I now have to pay more for to us the features??
Please advise?

Just to add - the license upgrade from V5 to V6 was a free upgrade - I have several licenses (for XT version) that I upgraded in this way.
Is V6 to V7 no longer a free upgrade for just the XT version?

Its based on your warranty, and if expired (3 years), then you need a Support plan. All upgrades are free when you have an active support plan. And you get access to our excellent tech support.
And if you have a newer enclosure, your support plan covers the older enclosure for that computer.

If you have several enclosures, check the license on the newest one. If it is 3 years or newer, your upgrade is no charge.

You have the option to "Upgrade" or "Renew". Upgrade is for SoftRAID Pro, which you do not need. Again, if your enclosure is less than 3 years old, Renew will be zero cost.

Ah I understand now.
Many thanks - I was trying old serials - just tried the serial from the newest drive and it seems support for that ends in Jan 2025. That license was renewed at no cost and has now been applied for the v7.6 I have installed. All working OK.
Guess that gives me the upgrade for next years OSX (if I upgrade to that), should v8 be available by then!

Yes and we will no longer be tethering SoftRAID releases to MacOS releases. So 8 may come before MacOS 15.
