I have a 5 bay raid that is third party to OWC but use SoftRAID to manage it. It seems that it will not mount. I've had this issue in the past and it eventually mounts but it will not mount currently. Ive validated it an it cuts in the middle of validating with an error. I just downloaded Disk Warrior and it isn't able to do anything with the drive due to it being ExFAT. (BYE BYE $120....)
My support file is attached. Please let me know if there is anything else you need to help.
Sorry for this about Disk Warrior. Its still good to run on any volumes you have that are HFS, (non SoftRAID also), as it can improve responsiveness in addition to mounting unmountable volumes.
We added ExFat because of user demand, then realized that because ExFat is primarily a data transfer file system (compatibility), not a working file system, we removed support for it. this is because it does not have even basic features like journaling. There is no protection against directory damage at all.
What you have to do is use a recovery app, like R-Studio, or Disk Drill to recover its files. Both have a trial mode for free to see what it sees, before you commit. Make sure to scan the "volume", not raw media, you should be able to figure it out.
Use HFS after you recover your data. even if you are using this on Windows also, HFS is more robust and SoftRAID supports HFS on Windows.
