1. After uninstalling NordVPN I successfully updated SoftRAID to 8.1 and everything seems to be functioning quite nicely. If I reinstall NordVPN, making sure to disable all non-VPN functions, will I have avoided the NordVPN conflict/problem? (I am guessing I would still have problems when rebooting the Mac)
2. I have an Aura account which includes their VPN. Would AuraVPN be recommended over NordVPN from here on out?

None of these things can affect the functionality of the SoftRAID driver.
All they potentially can do is block the SoftRAID Monitor from launching at startup, which means when you launch the SoftRAID app, you get an error (essentially monitoring). Our point is malware protection has no business disabling intentionally allowed launch items by approved third party developers, let alone doing it by "default". This should be a non issue soon, as malware makers improve their quality control.
So if SoftRAID launches, there is nothing to be concerned about. We do not test such apps, but reply on users to complain that SoftRAID App cannot launch. I have not heard any comments on Aura, which I suppose is a good thing.

Remember, it is not Nord, or their VPN. Its whatever bundled malware stuff they offer direct (not through the Apple App store)
