I think I've lost a 12TB volume 😪

I tried to convert an existing 12TB APFS (encrypted) volume to be 'managed' by Softraid, and it appeared to work... but then it wouldn't mount.  The Softraid interface would show "mounting" (blinking on/off), but never actually mount.

So, I converted it back to being not managed by Softraid, and I can't mount the volume with DU either.

Now I can't mount the volume in either Softraid, or DU.... and I appear stuck.

What can I do?

Attach a SoftRAID tech support file and we can take a look at it next week. (if you cannot, use filetransfer.io and post the link here.)

Also:  I'd prefer for that above limewire link to be not visibly publicly, so please don't 'approve' the message with your moderation tools.  Thanks!

@andrew5324

We are looking at this in the next couple days. Warning, its possible (as it is encrypted), the data may not be recoverable. We won't know for sure until we understand the bug that caused this.

I did replicate this in house. We will prevent this from happening in a future (probably the next) version of SoftRAID

@softraid-support -- thanks, that resolved the issue!  I hope your team can roll out a patch soon enough so that other users don't suffer from this same problem.

Thanks!

@andrew5324

We will address this ini the next update. Most likely, prevent this from being an option. Its a lot more work to fully support encrypted volumes.
