I have a 12 bay nas. I want to start with 4 drive in raid 5. Will I be able to add drives to the raid 5? if not. Can I create 3 raid 5 with 4-drive each with softraid?
are there any volume/raid size limits?

We do not support adding disks to a RAID volume, sorry.
SoftRAID has no practical volume size limit, and supports up to 16 drives per volume. You can have any number of volumes also.
