Mac Studio M2 ULTRA OS 15.7.1 (24G231)
All of a sudden my drive will not mount. Its a ThunderBay 4 mini - Thunderbolt 2 Chasis with 4 1TB Drives Striped RAID5
SoftRaid shows no errors. Tech Support file is attached.
Anyone have any ideas?
Its a directory issue, your volume directory was damaged somehow. I did not see any kernel panics or other explanations in the support file.
did you disconnect the drives when mounted at some point? APFS has redundancy in the directory and rarely gets damaged to the point where the volume cannot mount.
MacOS has no repair tools worth speaking of and since APFS is still not documented for third party repair tools, the only option is restore from backup, or if you are not fully backed up, get Disk Drill, or R-Studio, the two best data recovery apps for Macs. Both have 30 day trials so you can see the file names/folders will be recover before purchasing.
