The file in question is /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.OWC.HelperTool.RepairSRTool.plist - it references a non-existent helper at /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.OWC.HelperTool.RepairSRTool.
Someone else noticed this quite awhile ago, I'm still looking for a resolution. Here's a link to the old thread/post:
I am querying this again.....
I've been having beachballing issues with the Apple Mail app that started suddenly last week. (Almost certainly not related to SoftRAID.) So, I ran EtreCheck to see if it could find anything.
I also have this RepairSRTool.plist in my SoftRAID 8.1.1 installation that EtreCheck doesn't like. I'm sure that it was installed years ago in an earlier computer and it somehow migrated to this newest Studio.
Can I delete this file without causing a problem?
Probably better is use "uninstall SoftRAID", restart, then install again and reenter your license.
Thanks. I will do that.
OK, I did just that.
The installer added in another copy of /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.OWC.HelperTool.RepairSRTool.plist as dmetz described above. You know - the one that refers to the PrivilegedHelperTool that doesn't exist.
Let me dig into this and see if it can be fixed in the next update.
Thanks! 👍 Can't ask for more than that!
@bkdad
This was a faulty preference file, we have it fixed for the next update of SoftRAID.
Great! Thank you!
One other point. EtreCheck reports that this plist file is unsigned. I don't know if that is somehow due to the error in the file or because the plist file itself has not been signed. That might be something to fix, too.
