Validating Not Showing Progress

I am running SoftRAID 8.1 on a Mac M1 Studio Max on Sonoma. I started a validation on my Thunderbay 4 yesterday (Monday morning). At first, it showed the progress of how long it had been running. Shortly after that, it hasn't been showing any time progress at all. It says 'validating' on the volume and for each disk. How can I be sure that it is really still validating and not just stuck? Thanks.

Change volume activation to "workstation" and it should begin updating blocks consistently. If not, let me know.

note: the volume has to be "healthy", i.e, read and writable, to validate.

The volume is healthy. Changing it to workstation seemed to get it going. I now see a remaining time and the offset in changing consistently where it wasn't before. 'Blocks updated' continues to show '0' (zero). Is that normal?

@midihead7

Good. If it has ever rebuilt before (a full rebuild), or valdiated, the block count should be zero for HDD's.
Flash media will always show updated blocks, because of how flash media works.

Also, if your volume was not ever rebuilt, but used previously for another volume, blocks won't start showing updating until you get to areas of the disk where data was once written before this volume was created.

We once ran a test for 18 months, writing data for a week continuously, then validating. never saw a single block update.
