2xThunderBay 4 mini (connected each directly to MacBook Pro M1), 8 drives, RAID0, AFPS encrypted, AJA (5K Red, 64GB, 16bit RGBA):

macOS 13, SoftRAID 7.5:

macOS 14.4.1, SoftRAID 8:

Any ideas?

I need to know what is different about the two scenarios. Send a SoftRAID support file from each.

Also note if any cabling is different, and if either is using a dock.

How can I inspect the content of the the .sr_supt file? As I updated to macOS 14, I won't be able to generate one for macOS 13.

I also had occasional runs where AJA showed ~2.5GB/s write, but at about 75% of the 64GB would drop down and end up with the ~1.3GB/s average. Is there some write cache involved that becomes full at ~40GB?

@burningman

You cannot view it, as it is part binary (an emulator that lets us view SoftRAID as you see it)

We have an FAQ here that describes what is in it.

We do not have a disable-able write cache, no.

I do not know anything that would cut performance, so let me look at a support file, I can maybe make a guess.
