I currently run SoftRaid on a 2010 MacPro with 4 spinning disks.
The boot drive is separate from the Raid.
I'm going to replace those spinning drives with 4 SSDs.
What is the best approach for this?
Is it possible to pull one of the disks and replace with a SSD and keep doing this until all 4 are done.
Or is it better to pull all of disks, replace them with the SSD's and copy from a backup?
Also - the type of Raid: I currently use a 1+0 raid, however I'm considering a Raid 4 config.
I understand Raid 4 is an issue if you don't have an uninterruptible power supply, however big of an issue is this?
I have very good backup, and if there is a power failure, is the issue a file not saving correctly, or is it a risk that the entire Raid will become corrupted?

I would do a backup, create the RAID 4 volume and restore to it. Simplest.
You can do what you want, but you end up with a RAID 1+0 volume.
UPS's are over-rated, and power regulators are under-rated. A power loss may corrupt the directory (Disk Warrior to the rescue), but unlikely to corrupt data.
Power Regulators keep your equipment running longer by maintaining steady power. Brownouts are very deadly long term, and you may never notice you had one.
