Hi,
Today, SoftRAID send me a Warning about one disk used in a Raid5 using 4 disk : Error E/S and [...] "The disk need to be replaced"
Raid 5 with 4* 2To SSD samsung M2
OWC card on MacPro 2019 with MacOS BigSur 11.2.2
SoftRAID v6.0.1 b53
When I do "verify the disk" I have 2 messages at the end of the verification.
One pup-up with
[...] Error [...] the disk need to be replaced....
And when I clic OK I have another pop-up who says otherwise:
Verification complete [...] all sectors can be read and the disk work correctly.
What I need to do?
Thanks
you checked the boot sectors of the disk?
THis looks like a question I missed.
(Boot sectors are not on disks in macOS BTW they are in the System folder.)
I do not see reallocated sectors in the disk tile, which is the absolute check if a disk is about to fail. Plus, this is a flash media, so generallly SoftRAID does not predict SMART failure on SSD's.
Test the application DriveDx (a SMART driver application) and see if it reports the disk as starting to fail or not. (There is a 7 day free trial mode)
