I upgraded my SoftRAID to 7.6, rebooted Mac (Sonoma 14.1.1) and upon login, I am greeted with this error screen.
After Launching SoftRAID, I see that the unmounted Volume has following status: "degraded and missing disk." Weirdly it also shows "no errors".
Β Investigating further, one of my disks (no errors) is no longer connected to the Volume:
The unfortunate part is, I have no backup of the Volume for the past few weeks, so I cannot just simply Delete Volume or Initialize to start over.
Is there a way to "reconnect" this disconnected disk without losing access to everything? Right now, the Volume doesn't even mount at all so I can't even copy whatever is left out. 😥Β
Help!!! 😪
Sorry, this needs manual fixing, probably next week. Can you attach a SoftRAID tech support file?

Phew, this sounds like my Volume is not lost, despite some manual work required.
Ok, I will proceed to generating the Tech Support file. Is it safe to post the file here, I hope only SoftRAID Support has access to it right?
Β
It has no identifiable information on it, except your email, and I can delete the file. thanks
Please find attached the Tech Support file and delete it after receiving, thank
Β
got it, lets see what our engineer says after reviewing it.
@softraid-support I totally understand if there are other support requests before mine, but is it possible at least to get a "sign of hope" that my data is recoverable? Or should I start preparing for the worst?
I have lost access to my entire volume for a week now, and it is starting to reach critical level with work due dates. Thanks for your consideration.
There is still a chance it would be today, I am waiting for word.
@softraid-support Finally support got back to me with a recovery file, and now it's back up and working 👍Β Thanks!
One of our engineers does this in their spare time, so it can take time sometimes. Glad it worked!
