Hi there, I´m using Softraid now for one week. It´s running with Macbook M2 on Sonoma OS. Actually it´s working fine, but a few times after restart the first HDD is not getting recognized/found. I´m aware that i have two topics not perfect in my setup. The first think is, that i have also Bitdefender installed. The second topic is that I have two parirs of HDD´s. 2x Iron-Wolf 4GB Model: ST8000VN004 and 2x Model: ST8000VN006. That was because i was having already two and didn´t get the same ones. When the HDD´s are online everything works fine, therefore I expect issues withb bitdefender would appear differernt than missing one HDD. Do you have a guess or knowledge if the issue may be caused by the two different types of HDD or may it be another issue?

You can attach a SoftRAID support file. If disks do not appear, whether inconsistently or not, it is a hardware connection problem. Neither MacOS nor SoftRAID care if you are using different disk models, brands, etc. If MacOS does not see a disk at startup, it is the connection that is the issue.
If one disk eventually shows up, but slowly, it may be taking longer to power up. If it simply does not show up at all until you restart or reset the cabling that is a hardware reliability issue.

After second restart is came back again. Please find the log file attached. Both the lofile or zip can´t be uploaded, so i has to paste the text here.

Is it the same disk missing every time? Does it show up (slowly)? or do you need to restart or reset anything to get it to appear?

It´s the same disk. And if it happens it´s not showing up at all, until i perform a restart. two days ago i poped out this harddisk and poped it in again. It´s running since this time without an error but i didn´t switch off my laptop since then.

I assume this is a multi bay enclosure? Change its location to a differnt slot. See if the same disk ejects, or the new one in that slot. then you know if it is the enclosure, or the disk.

Yes, it´s the 4 bay enclosure. Good idea, i will do so and give it some trials.

Trial and error is the only way to know for sure. Generally this is a disk issue, as when enclosures fail, often a PCI lane is what fails, which means 2 drives, not one. But one lane can fail, less commonly.
