Hello,
I have a Stripe raid but one of the disks has failed.
What's the best course of action to replace the disk or recover the data?
Thanks, Stephen
If the disk has physically failed, then the data is not recoverable, unless you bring the drive to a professional recovery service such as Drive Savers (which we could help you with)
If the drive is making clicking noises, then it is a head crash, and will require professional recovery. If it does not show up in OS X (the SoftRAID disk column), then listen and see if it is spinning up, or if you can improve the connection.
If the drive does show up in SoftRAID's disks column, send us a support file, and we can advise you whether it is something that can be fixed.
You cannot recover data from Stripe volumes when one disk has failed.
Hello,
It looks like both drives are full. They're 2* 1 TB drives and only have a few bytes left. Everything did go really slow just before the issues.
I've tried everything to get them to mount to try and delete some data but they won't. They both are visible in Soft raid and Disk utility. I did try and validate each and it looks like one now isn't connected to the Stripe volume?
Can I delete and create a new stripe volume?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
I did try and add the report from Softraid but it stated "The type of file that you attached is not allowed."
Thanks, Stephen
Hello,
The Volume also states "missing stripe disk"
Do stripped disks fail when they become full?
To test I did try and create a new volume from the 2 and it stated that they needed at least 10MB of free space.
Thanks, Stephen

Hello,
This file was sent. Is there anything I can do to recover the data or repair the stripe drive?
Thanks, Stephen
We will investigate to see if there is something that can be done. the drives are failing.
