New Mac Studio coming

I have a TB 4, currently on Softraid XT 6.2.1 and an Intel iMac.

I've got a new Mac Studio coming, which I assume will be have Ventura installed. This is my first computer upgrade since I got the TB and I want to make sure I have the sequence right.

Currently I do TimeMachine backups to the TB and a LaCie SSD

My plan is when Migration Assistant comes up to restore from the LaCie, then install Softraid 7 (I already have the new license code) Is that the way to go? If so, anything else I should be doing or watching for? And if not, then what is the best procedure?

Thanks in advance.

Consider a clean install, to get rid of old applications, drivers, extensions, etc. Otherwise you are carrying forward really old stuff.

You do not need the SoftRAID disks connected when you install the driver, but you do need to do these steps:

Thanks. I know I should do a clean install but it is so tempting do just restore -- I've got years of crap but I also have everything configured the way I like. It's like a comfortable pair of old shoes, hate thinking about breaking in new ones :)
