I have an OWC 4 slots thunderbolt 4 and running Raid 5. I tried SoftRAID v7 (not the beta) with Ventura for my basic config of M1 mini. My mini is only for using a RAID server and no other software has been installed. I encounter a restart loop once I plug in OWC, running SoftRAID alone has no problem. I tried to have a clean install of Ventura but the problem is still there, so I switch back to MACOS12 with v6. I don't expect this problem can be solved soon but most appreciated if the support team can see if any solution can help later.
Sorry that I can't provide the log as it restarts once I plug in. Thanks!
So I can be sure of the cause, connect the enclosure, when it crashes, disconnect it. Then on restart, "report to Apple", click details, and copy/paste the text into text edit.
Be sure now to use "Make plain text", and you can then attach it to the forum. (we do not support .rtf here) I will take a look at it.
Mine is doing the same thing, I have the same set up. However, on reboot my mini goes into a reboot loop and the pops errors
Also, this forum will not let me attach a .txt file
Well, I am now posting this from a second machine because my primary Mac mini is now unusable. It is a constant restart loop that began as soon as I installed SoftRaid 7. I have disconnected it from the external drives and all other peripherals and have the same issue. Thanks. I will now spend the day restoring my machine. I still con not attach a plain text (.txt) to this forum. I have been a soft raid user for many years. Currently I can no longer access almost 4TB of data due to the issues your software has caused.
You are forgetting to "Make plain text".
What you name a file, is not necessarily what you think it is, as the extension is hidden from you.
I suspect this is the DART crash. please post the crash log. thanks.
@softraid-support I have the same problem, mac studio 13.0.1, softraid 7.0.1. As long as the power is on, the computer will restart.
Is there any stable solution? I have 24 t that can't be accessed now.
You can test Ventura 13.1, which makes progress, but does not completely fix this.
the other options are: Wait 5 minutes before connecting the disks, or remove one of the drives slightly, connect the enclosure, then after about 5 minutes you can push the drive in.
We are getting closer with Apple on this, but it is not fixed yet.
