  • OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad
  • RAID 5
  • Each drive is NTFS
  • SoftRAID Standard 8.5.1.5
  • Windows 11 Pro 24H2

There seems to be absolutely no way to unmount a volume. There are absolutely no buttons to be able to eject the enclosure, nor any options by right-clicking into a contextual menu. What's going on? Computer hangs on shutdown or reboot every single time.

Also, I should add:

Literally none of these commands work in PowerShell, running either as a Standard user or as an Administrator. Surprising and confusing.

@seth-goldin

Use the system tray icon in the system tray area of the taskbar, right-click on the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon.

If the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon isn't visible, select Show hidden icons first, and then right-click the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon.

What does

SFC /SCANNOW

show?

The command lines should work. I presume you are using these as an admin, not in restricted mode?

This is a Windows error, figure out what is holding the volume open, SoftRAID does not manage volume file systems.
