Sounds like beta 3 has a fix?

Yes!
Our initial testing shows it is fixed. Feel free to try it.

Any update on this? Have you confirmed that the issue is fully addressed in 10.15.5? Do we know when 10.15.5 will be released for public download?
So far, yes it appears it is fixed.
Apple does not publish or offer release dates. I would guess soon.
Resolved Issues
Large data transfers to RAID volumes no longer cause Finder to become unresponsive. (61307708)
We are just waiting for this to be released.
There was another bug fixed, involving systems with 16 or more drives.

MacOS 10.15.5 is out. Can I assume this reboot bug is resolved in this release?
Can I revert back the temporary solution (kernel setting) after installing 10.15.5?
Yes the bug appears fixed and you should revert to the default NVRAM settings.
I am sorry to report that after the update to 10.15.5 and the lastest SoftRaid driver I am still getting reboots. Twice since I update the Softraid driver yesterday.
It is really sad, I got to the Softraid and OWC hoping I would get a reliable combo for my data on my iMAc but now it is going to byte me again and again...
:-(
If you are needing to update the SoftRAID Driver, then perhaps you did not disable Secure Boot. (or forgot that every Catalina update, you need to update the SoftRAID driver?)
is this an imac or imac Pro?
Send us a support file, so we can look. There are no known kernel panic issues with the 5.8.3 driver and Catalina 10.15.5.

I will send a report.
I did not Disable Secure Boot, however the 'about box' of SoftRAID states: SoftRAID v 5.8.3 - Driver v 5.8.3
You MUST disable Secure boot in Catalina. Otherwise, Catalina is loading a reduced version of the SoftRAID driver, 5.6.9 in 10.15.5. Rebuilds won't work, no new volumes can be created, no notifications, slow performance.
That is no good, nothing will work.
We are working with Apple on a way around this Catalina limitation, but it will not be until 10.16.

I did disable Secure Boot before, installing SoftRaid for the first time, version 5.7 I think. Do you say I am now stiill running an old driver? Because was able to create new volumes a few weeks ago.
Here is how to know for certain. Run terminal and paste in this command:
sudo kextstat -b com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID
What driver version is displayed in the output?
