I have a new Thunderbay4 enclosure. It is fitted with 4 Seagate EXOS Enterprise 4TB 7200RPM 256MB cache.
It's attached to an Caldigit T3 dock, which in turn is attached to a MacBook Pro 2018, 2.9GHz i9 processor, 32 GB ram and 4GB graphics card.
I'm running SoftRAID XT 5.8.3
I have disabled boot security as per the Catalina thread.
I have also disabled the VRam as per the thread for hanging.
BUT i get around 125Mbs write speed and 600Mbs read speed.
BUT i also have softraid monitor crashing on me. This happened again last night.
I can't attach the crash report as the forum doesn't allow text or PDF file uploads.
But i have put a snap shot of the start of the report.
This is not what i had expected from a brand new setup... :(

The slow writes are from Monitor not running.
I suspect something is triggering Monitor to crash.
Do a clean install of Catalina in your startup volume:
Run Disk Utility
Upper left, show "All devices"
Select your startup disk.
Click Partition
Click the + to add a new partition
Choose "new Volume"
(This will make a new volume inside your existing volume, sharing space, it does not disrupt your existing system at all)
Startup into internet recovery mode (command r)
Install A new Catalina.
Install the SoftRAID driver.
Run your performance tests and you should see the faster write performance.
Assuming this is correct, then we need to figure out what is triggering this in your existing system.

Which of the disk patrons do i select?
Is it the one i have highlighted with a box?

Plus when i select either the top level drive or one of the sub level partitions and then hit partition. There is no + to add partition. What size of partition is needed?
Sorry i'm not seeing the instructions match to what i see?

please ignore earlier posts.. I worked out how to get the fresh copy on.
You are correct. with a fresh copy I am getting around 450MB/s write & 600MB/s read.
So how do I get this on my origional boot volume?

Monitor has to stop crashing. Work with support emails, its easier than the forum.
