SoftRAID 7 pro, RAID 5 span across 2x 4 disk enclosures. 4TB disks in each, so 28TB useable.

If I was to one by one, replace the 4TB disks to 8TB disks, would the volume increase to 56TB useable? Whilst the repository is backed up online, I don't have a secondary physical repository to use, hence not a case of being able to: -> copy data -> replace disks -> copy data back to 56TB enclosure.

Yes in theory. When all the drives are replaced, however, either we need to have fixed the resize bug in a SoftRAID 7 beta (ask us), or you need to temporarily connect to A Big Sur computer to perform the resize volume command. (resize currently requires Big Sur or older with SoftRAID 6.0.5) Its a high priority to fix this, but the return of the Ventura kernel panic is more urgent to resolve.

I need to do this on one of my volumes.  Has this fix been implemented or do I need to get a Big Sur computer (probably not doable) and use an oder version of softraid?  Thanks!

@jerryhammond

Yes this has been fixed in 7.6. Let me know if you have any problems.
