We use 2 MacMinis, 1 in Target mode, in a SoftRAID setup. Mac OS is 10.12.6 on here. I ran the new SoftRAID update and was asked to Restart my machine and after the reboot all I get is the prohibitory sign like it can't boot up to the system. I've tried Safe Boot and that didn't help. I can boot to another drive and see the volumes but doesn't do me much good.

I'm wondering if my 2nd MacMini, the one in Target Mode, if maybe it wasn't connected at the time because the firewire cable was not seated all the way.

Is there anyway for me to get things running again from this point of being?

Thanks

So I fixed it. I put both MacMin's in Target Mode and connected them to another MacMini that I have here at my office. I installed a trial version of SoftRAID and it then updated the drivers and after a restart my SoftRAID volume showed up on the desktop normally. I then shut both MacMinis down and turned them on and now they are booting back up normally with no prohibitory sign.

Something in the driver update fell apart, can't explain what, but I'm happy that putting SoftRAID on another machine and plugged these two computers up to it was enough to get things going again.

@memcpuguy

the problem is 6.0 is not bootable, so you need to stay with 5.8.4.

We had to remove this feature and the potential issues with maintaining booting, but only on older OS's was too much.

Glad you found the solution.
