Ha! No worries, I appreciate the honesty!
And thanks for all your help so far, cheers :)

Hey can I ask one more set of questions? If I'm unable to resolve the hardware issue, what options do I have for recovering the data on my volume from the 6x drives?
e.g. If I purchased a competitor's second-hand 6-bay enclosure, would the SoftRAID interface be able to access it?
Could I image each of the 6 drives locally and then mount them in a way that SoftRAID would recognise the volume?
Or would I have to go to one of those exorbitant data recovery place for them to combine and then dump onto something else?
SoftRAID is independent of bus or enclosure. Any JBOD enclosure will work. You can split enclosures, such as a Thunderbay 4 drive, plus a OWC dual dock (2 drives) over USB, and the volume is mountable. It does not matter. You could even connect to a Windows machine with SoftRAID. Everything about the disks and the volume is on the disks.
If you connect some other way and the volume does NOT mount, check if there is a disk identifier. (volumes tile). this tells you SoftRAID is presenting the volume to macOS to mount, but the directory is damaged. If this is HFS, then Disk Warrior can repair the directory almost all the time.
Also, the recovery apps Disk Drill, and R-Studio both work with SoftRAID volumes.
So there is almost never a need to use an expensive data recovery service just because the disks are in SoftRAID format.
Thank you, that's all fantastic to hear and very valuable info for this novice. Mucho appreciado muchacho!
Sorry, me again! I haven't had a techs in my city able/willing to locate a replacement TBT3 controller and replace it within the enclosure.
I'm looking at other avenues but haven't exhausted this one just yet...
Are you able to look through this list and let me know which, if any, models would have compatible controllers?

I believe only the 6 bay would be compatible, but I do not know the electronics.
