When attempting to remove a “disk failure predicted” disk from volume, met with softraid error. An integral part of the softraid application has stopped functioning properly. Please quite softraid and relaunch it.
Any ideas?
@Zsoldier
restart and try again. If you get the same error, save a SoftRAID tech support file and attach it.
@softraid-support I restarted and tried several times. Same result each time. I eventually just pulled the bad drive and replaced it to force a rebuild.
"Apr 25 17:18:14 - SoftRAID Monitor: The disk at disk5, SoftRAID ID: 08EC69FE85998200, Location: Thunderbolt, SATA bus, 3.64 TB is predicted to fail. This disk is 20 - 60 times more likely to fail in the next 2 - 6 months than a normal disk. This prediction is based on SMART data retrieved from the disk. This disk should be replaced soon. SMART Attributes used for failure prediction are: ID 5 (Reallocated SectorCount) = 46, ID 196 (Reallocated Event Count) = 0, ID 197 (Reallocation Pending Sector Count) = 0, ID 198 (Uncorrectable Sector Count) = 0."
Yesah, it was indeed starting to fail.
@softraid-support Yeah, that's fine. It was when attempting to remove that disk gracefully, softraid kept crashing w/ the message I originally posted.

Try manually umounting the volume first. Then it should work.
