I have a 16th 4 bay OWC thunderbolt drive setup as raid 5 using softraid software on my iMac.
But I've sold my iMac (new owner will pick it up on monday) and going forward I will be using a windows laptop for the next several months (?)... at least until a new apple laptop refresh is released. I tried plugging in my raid drive to the windows laptop (which does have a thunderbolt connection) but it's not being recognized by Windows. What must I do so the drive and it's contents are recognized on my windows as a raid? I'm very new when it comes to raid so please do break it down for me.
Thank you.
We do not have a Windows driver, so SoftRAID volumes cannot be seen inside Windows 10.
the only option is if this were a Mac with a Virtual Machine, then you could share the SoftRAID volume with Windows.
I am using mac but anyway to get that in windows 10.
Regards.
James
There is a Windows version of SoftRAID being developed. RAID 0 and 1 are first. RAID 5 will take longer.

This is excellent to hear... many of us would love to have your toolkit as our go-to solution in the PC environment.
How about RAID 1+0? Would that be closer to first delivery with RAID 0 and 1, or take longer like RAID 5?
We are just nearing beta for RAID 0 and 1.
Other levels will take more time.
Any ETA for RAID 5?
RAID 5 for windows should be a few months after the first SoftRAID for Windows is releases.
We have not yet released SoftRAID for Windows, but it is in beta, I believe. (I am not on the windows team)
Hi SoftRaid Support,
1. May i know when is the official release of SoftRAID for Windows?
2. In the mean time, would you share me the Beta version of SoftRAID for Windows?
I need it for my OWC Express 4M2. My host PC is running on Windows 10.
I do not know the time frame. When it is ready.
You can ask for the beta at winbeta@softraid.com
