We are highly likely to do a SoftRAID 6 release with 10.16 being the base. We try to go back as far as possible with Mac OS. Currently we support back to 10.10. SoftRAID 6 may bump that up a couple releases, but no more.

Does this statement imply that SoftRAID 6 will not be released until after MacOS 10.16 is released?

Any updates on the timeline would be appreciated. I have just purchased a Thunderbay 8 enclosure and was hoping to set it up in a RAID 6 configuration.

Its a current guess. There is no beta yet of 10.16, so until we see that, we do not know if we need to make major changes to accommodate whatever surprises are in 10.16.

And I'd be happy to beta test SoftRAID 6 since my RAID (OWC 4M2) is always backed up.

Do not try encryption. Do not try RAID 6. email notifications are not working in 6.0, but you can revert back to 5.8.3 after creating an APFS volume. (Converting is not available)
