@softraid-support I opted for the empty enclosures that came with Lite XT, since I was buying multiple enclosures, it was cheaper to get a full license separately (which came in a DVD box). I'll go ahead and return it, thank you for the feedback!
@softraid-support thanks, I've not been able to mount my owc thunderbay, I can see all the drives but can't mount them
If you have Allowed OWC in System Preferences already, then an older driver must be causing the issues.
Did you use Migration Assistant to move your old data to the M1?
If so, we will need to manually delete old extensions so we can eliminate the extension that is blocking the extensions cache from being created correctly.
Post a SoftRAID Tech support file and we can start resolving this.
Got one new update: Softraid b47 did NOT run on my system when I updated to Big Sur (public) beta 11.2. The drive can be seen, but it did stay unmounted. I tried it.
Speculation: In 11.1 you need to allow known developers to install system extensions. If you install b47 onto a clean system, that dialog will come up, and you need to restart the system and enter recovery mode in order to do that. That does not happen in 11.2. It might be possible that 11.2 re-enables that security switch, meaning the system extension for Softraid does not load. I have not tested this, but it also might be possible that in 11.2 I just have to re-enter recovery mode and set that switch in order for Softraid to work. Again, this is speculation.
Something to test. We have a machine updating overnight, so I can try this.
attaching tech support report. own 4m2 t3 (Samsung 970 2tb x 4), raid 5, reduced security in startup. soft raid app recognize the raid volume but would not mount on m1 Mac mini. mounts on Intel mbp.
thanks
go ahead and attach a support file.
Do you remember if you "Approved" OWC as an Identified developer in System Preferences when you install the SoftRAID driver?
Please attach the support file. It did not get through.
@softraid-support yup that fixed it. have now configured as raid5. doesn't seem very stable tho. keeps crashing periodically. using Samsung 970 evo. shud have no prob, right?
The driver is not loading.
Did you enable third party developers in Internet recovery mode?

Select reduced security and enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.
Then did you enable System Preferences/Security to Allow OWC as an Identified Developer?
Make sure both are done before we try to troubleshoot further.
No, there should be zero panics from running a RAID 5 volume on SSD. Check that your Samsung have Mac compatible firmware, some models (early versions of each new model primarily) do not. Attach a support file and I can try to look.
thank you. attaching it again.
also I'm using apfs (instead of hfs+) does that make a difference? I'm researching to update Samsung firmware now (these drives work in intel Mac tho)
