I reinstalled Big Sur. I saw that the thunder bay appeared as a drive. I installed the softraid software and updated it to latest version. After restarting the machine it no longer iOS mounted and will not mount.

Note: when you have an issue and want to post a file, a SoftRAID tech support file is best.

When you updated the driver, did you (again) click "Allow" OWC as an identified developer?

If you did, you may be running into a Big Sur problem, where it does not auto load the driver at startup, and you need to manually load the drier. this is a bug that Apple has told us will be fixed in a future macOS version, perhaps Monterey, perhaps sooner.

Paste this into terminal, and your volume should mount:

sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

Note:
The "up" key in terminal will show prior commands, so next time you want to manually load SoftRAID, just hit the up arrow and this command will be available without having to type it.

So that command works and the drive now appears. But I get this error;

*MacOS can't repair the disk *Thunderbay* You can still open or copy files on the disk, but you can’t save changes to files on the disk. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can.*

In soft raid it doesn't show any errors. Whats the problem?

@sithxace the volume directory is damaged. macOS attempted to auto repair it and failed.

Either use Disk Warrior, if you have it, or backup/restore. MacOS's volume repair tools are essentially non functional

I have disk warrior. it is giving me the option to rebuild. Is this dangerous? I have 12TB of storage that I do not want lost and rebuilding everything sounds risky. Hard to back up 12tB. This is a RAID 1+0

Disk Warrior is generally safe. It does not write anything until the last step "Replace". Use the Preview button and if you manually inspect it to be sure then you can have confidence in the result.
