Can you send a screenshot of how to allow OWC as a "identified developer"

In the privacy section, I've given Softraid Full Disk Write Access, I am assuming that isn't the same thing.

@mercymustard

If you "reinstall SoftRAID driver", you should get a prompt if you wait a minute by MacOS. Click System Preferences and it will jump right there.

I don't have a photo handy, but can capture one if you are still unable to get there.

That option doesn't come up for me when I reinstall and go to security/privacy area.

I've also gone changed the security settings at Bootup to allow for reduced security.

The RAID set up is still showing as unmounted.

I've attached a couple images along with the technical support log generated from the program.

@mercymustard

The driver is not yet loading.

Did you try to reinstall the SoftRAID driver, Utilities menu(do not immediately restart) and go to System Preferences / Security to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer?

The option to "Allow" is only available for a short while, before restart and a few minutes after restarting, if you do not do it before restarting.

Hi there,

I have just updated from SoftRaid 6.2 to Softraid 6.3 under Mac OS 12.5 and my Softraid Drive is no longer mounting. SoftRaid can see the individual drives that form my Softraid Drive but when I try to mount the drive nothing happens.

I am on Softraid 6.3 and the driver is 6.3. My log file is attached to this.

@softraid-support I have done so (driver 6.3) but I still get an error message that the attached drives are not readable by this computer. Softraid 6.3 does see the drives.

The SoftRAID driver is not loading.

Did you do this?
https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/mac-help/mchl768f7291/mac
Select reduced security and enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

Now you need to reinstall the SoftRAID driver.

After enabling third party extensions, reinstall the SoftRAID driver, (do not immediately restart) and go to System Preferences / Security to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer.

Also, you should navigate to System Preferences/Security/Privacy/Full Disk Access and enable full disk access for SoftRAID.

Yes, I have done all this and reduced the security, but still have the same issue I see the drive but I can't mount it.

I just downloaded SoftRaid after doing some extensive research. I have 4, 8TB, WD RED pro HDD's inside a Sabrent USB 3.2, 5 bay enclosure. I started by formatting using disk utility as APFS and then reformatted with Softraid 6.3 into a raid5 volume in HFS+ format.

The first time I didn't have the driver installed correctly and changed the security settings in recovery mode. Before this the computer would come up with the message "the disk you attached was not readable by this computer" for all 4 drives. After redownloading the correct driver, it comes up with the same message but for the single volume instead of 4 separate volumes.

These are brand new drives installed today, with no data on them. I formatted them as HFS+ (as recommended by the software) with softraid. I am using an M1 Mac mini so I cannot reset PRAM.

I am still on a the free trial as of right now but If this works I will be using Softraid to run my personal media server.

I will add in the report once I can get it generated.

Thanks.

After reading more, I tried deleting the volume and recreating volume. It seems that because the volume was created before the "Security was changed" in recovery mode, that it never had the necessary communication with the M1 chip.

This seemed to work and the drive is now mounting successfully. I hope this info helps another.

@fymethevamp

Exactly what I would have recommended. Glad you figured it out.
