Did you do this?
https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/mac-help/mchl768f7291/mac
Select reduced security and enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

Now you need to reinstall the SoftRAID driver. (Utilities menu)

After reinstalling the SoftRAID driver, (do not immediately restart) and go to System Preferences / Security to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer. now, restart

Hi, my SoftRaid volumes are not showing up on Monterey either.  I'm setting up a new M1 based Mac and used the Migration Utility to transfer the files/apps over from my Intel based Mac (but did not transfer any of the data on the external drives with SoftRaid Volumes).  Although SoftRaid 6.2.1 was transferred, the volumes didn't show up when plugging in the external drives because as I now know I was missing some crucial steps.  I've now taken those steps: reducing OS security to allow user management of kernel extensions, reinstalling the SoftRaid driver, allowing OWC as an identified developer, and restarting.  However, my SoftRaid volumes still do not show up.  I've sent an inquiry & support file to support as well, but hoping I could find some suggestions on the forum.  Attached is the support file.

@danb

When you submit a support file, its always best to include the disks, or I cannot tell if the SoftRAID driver is loading.

However, this sounds like you are missing this step:

https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/mac-help/mchl768f7291/mac
Select reduced security and enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

Now you need to reinstall the SoftRAID driver.

After enabling third party extensions, reinstall the SoftRAID driver, (do not immediately restart) and go to System Preferences / Security to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer.

I've done all of the above steps.  And after additional experimentation, here's where it gets even more interesting.  I have two external disk arrays.  One array has a single SoftRaid Raid 5 Volume configured on it (it's an OWC enclosure).  I have a second disk array (non-OWC enclosure) with a SoftRaid 1+0 volume and a SoftRaid 5 volume.  If I plug the OWC enclosure with SoftRaid Raid 5 Volume into the new M1 Mac, SoftRaid sees the volume and it looks normal.  Plug the non-OWC enclosure with the two SoftRaid volumes into the M1 Mac and nothing on the disk array shows up in SoftRaid (no disk tiles, no volumes).  Both disk arrays work perfectly fine with the same version of SoftRaid (6.2.1) on my intel iMac.  I even tried swapping the Thunderbolt 3 cable and the results are the same.

@danb

If the drives are not showing up, it is a hardware issue. Check your cable connections, etc.

What you see in the SoftRAID user interface is identical to what macOS sees, so if the disks are not showing up, then macOS is not seeing them either.

Well it's not a "hardware" problem as the unit works fine with my iMac running Catalina.  But we've discovered what the issue is.  The non-OWC enclosure is made by CalDigit.  It turns out that CalDigit never made drivers for MacOS Monterey (either M1 or Intel) so the OS, and thus SoftRaid, will never see the drives if running Monterey...

@danb

That kind of qualifies as "hardware". I am just learning their proprietary driver means even the raw drives cannot show up in macOS. Shame. So you need a new enclosure.  the data won't survive, either,  so back up first.

I'm working on backups as we speak and then migrating to a new enclosure. I have an extra OWC Thunderbay IV enclosure so I'm going to try that. Total drag as you can imagine.  I initially hoped the data would survive moving to a new enclosure, but I think you're right, and it won't.  I appreciate you and your team's assistance getting to the bottom of this!

Attaching a log.  Volume not mounting on my Mac mini M1 after I mistakenly connected it to my iPad Pro.  Been functioning normally before.

Showing: RAID 5 degraded.... no errors, rebuilding, waiting to mount.

Thank you

Alex

@yangster888

the volume directory is damaged.

If you have an older computer (intel), running Big Sur or older, you can run Disk warrior to repair the directory.

Otherwise you need to restore from backup or run a recovery app like Disk Drill or R-Studio.

This seems like a IOS or macOS bug to me, however.

@softraid-support thank you for your reply.  I do have another intel Mac.  After I run disk warrior to repair the directory, can I still use the flash drives or do I need to replace them?  Thanks.
