Licenses required

I currently have one Softraid enclosure attached to one computer, running RAID5 (Softraid XT was included)

I am about to receive 3 other enclosures and am wondering what licensing is required.

1. Computer 1, enclosure 1 (TB4 mini) is RAID5 (came with SR XT)
2. Computer 1, enclosure 2 (Express 4M2) will be RAID0 and rsynced to enclosure 1 (comes with SR Lite)

3. Computer 2, enclosure 1 (TB4) will be RAID0 (comes bare)
4. Computer 2, enclosure 2 (TB4) will be RAID0 and mirrored to enclosure 1 (comes bare)

I plan to keep SR XT on machine 1 to handle enclosure 1 (RAID5) and 2 (RAID0)
I plan to use SR Lite to set up the RAID0+1 on machine 2 (AFAIK, SR Lite supports RAID0 and RAID1)

Sounds right?

Almost. SoftRAID Lite does support RAID 1 and RAID 0, but not 1+0. That requires XT.

What you could do is make them both RAID 0 and use Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper, etc, to keep them in sync.

Does XT support RAID 01 across enclosures? i.e. 2 mirrored enclosures, both being RAID0.

RAID 1+0 is OK across dual enclosures. SoftRAID does not really care what bus/enclosure disks are in.

Great -- I thought that Softraid was operating at the enclosure level (with the exception of mirror).

Thanks for your time. Much appreciated
