Hi Guys,

I have an old MacPro 3.1 on Catalina with 4x4TB drives stripped into a RAID using this SoftRaid software. The computer has died so I would like to take the drives out, put them into some sort of new housing, and keep on using them.

What's the best way to do this? Thanks in advance

There are no issues, likely.

Depending on how old, however, if they are really old, we may not support APM partition map. I think in 5.x, we mount them, but no longer allow creating them, etc. So they should mount automatically on a new computer/enclosure.

If they are already in GPT (current) disk format, they can just be connected in any way. There is no information about the volume that is not stored on the disks.

@softraid-support great thanks buddy, so if I bought say a 5 Bay External Hard Drive Enclosure, chucked my drives in it it should just recognise the raid?
