I have a simple volume that I intend to move to a different disk in my Thunderbay . Is there a recommendation on the best approach? It is an HFS+ partition used for Time Machine, so it has a sparse bundle on it.
If I create a partition of appropriate size on the new disk, can I just Carbon Copy Clone to the new partition? While both are under softraid management? I do not know how SoftRaid stores metadata about volume contents.
Also, I am a bit concerned about whether I could end up with duplicate volume UUID if I do that; I would tend to think that MacOS would be okay with that as long as I do not mount the old one and the new one at the same time, but if Softraid itself tracks UUID then I fret about confusing it.
Carbon Copy Cloner is perfect. There are no issues.
Thanks, CCC seems to have worked well to move my Time Machine.
