Hello everybody,

a RAID1 connection of two disks "broke" recently ("secondary disk missing") - is there a way to re-connect these two disks gain, other then delete one of them and re-connect it?

SoftRAID 5.8.4 with matching drivers / macOS 10.13.6 - yep - old but gold

Best - Steffen

Since your volume "failed over", the mirror is split.
Manually inspect both volumes and choose which to keep. (in case one has more recent data, written since the mirror volume split)
rename the other volume.

In SoftRAID delete the "other" volume.
"remove missing secondary disk"
"disable safeguard"
"Add disk" and let it rebuild.

you can use it during the rebuild.
